Buck Smithson

Buck Smithson, 88, died Monday, January 17, 2011 at University Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Smithson was a native of Cannon County, and resided in Liberty, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Elizabeth Odom Smithson; his sisters, Henrietta McCrary and Christine Damico.

Survivors include his sisters, Elna McCawley of Cookeville, Hazel Tuley of Carthage and Marguerite Cannon of Franklin; 5 nephews, 3 nieces and 18 great nieces and nephews also survive.

He was a local farmer and a lifelong member of the Methodist church.

Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 with Rev. Ken Sikes officiating. Burial will follow in Sycamore Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
