Brenda Lenell Mathis

Brenda Lenell Mathis, 50, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011 at Stones River Hospital E/R from a sudden illness.

A native of Erwin, TN, she lived in Woodbury.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Jeffery Mathis of Woodbury; son, Michael Eugene Morehead of NC; sisters, Barbara Mathis of Beechgrove and Rosie Jacobs of Woodbury; brother, Kenneth Scalf and Garfield Scalf, both of Manchester; mother-in-law, Mrs. Ella Mathis of Woodbury; brother-in-law, Bobby Mathis of Woodbury; and sisters-in-law, Rita Watts, Nellie Bentley and Tammy Mathis, all of Woodbury.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Scalf and Allie Ellen Jewell Scalf; sister, Janice Lynn Williams, brothers-in-law, Thomas “Bud” Mathis and Claude Wiley Mathis.

A member of the Church of Christ, she was a homemaker.

Funeral services will be held at Mt. Aarat Church of Christ at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6 with Bro. Bobby Hale officating. Burial will be in Mt. Aarat Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon until time of service Sunday.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Woodbury Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
