American Legion Post 279 will host an honors dinner and ceremony for the 2013 Boys/Girls State attendees at their meeting on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 5:45 PM for dinner and 6:30 PM for the Honors Ceremony, (certificates and trophies presented), at the Senior Citizens Center in Woodbury. The Boys/Girls state attendees, the sponsors and the CCHS staff will be our honored guests.

And, don't forget the KCBS Championship Bar-B-Que Cookoff on September the 27th and 28th, Friday and Saturday, at the Woodbury and Cannon County Fairgrounds. Live music and plenty of good ole bar-b-que, hamburgers, cheese burgers, ham sandwiches, sausage and biscuits, strawberry short cake, and fries and cheese. Lots of good ole fun. The Kids Que Competition is 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Friday 27 September. Live music starts at 6:00 PM. The Champion will be crowned on Saturday and the prize money presented to all of our winners. Come on out and support the Veterans of Cannon County, our Youth, and our community. God bless you all.

Don't forget the "Friends of After School Kids” will have a concession stand, so come on out and support the Kids

After School Program. The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 279, under the command of Dr. Bill Jennings, will be selling Strawberry Short Cakes.  John House will be there with his, "Dog House". There will be plenty of craft booths and plenty of good times and great memories.
