Board of Aldermen OK temporary judge



Nathan Nichols was unanimously approved as interim city judge during the April 7 meeting of the Woodbury Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

The vote followed approval of a one-year leave of absence by city judge Richard Northcutt.

In other business the board heard from city engineer Anthony Pelham who told city officials that bids for a proposed sewer rehabilitation project in the Beaver Hill neighborhood would be opened on April 30.

In another matter, the board instructed the city attorney, represented by Mitchell and Mitchell law firm, to look into a periodic water overflow problem on Greenbriar Street. The Board of Aldermen expects to hear a report at its May meeting.

Board members also approved a $3,000 appropriation for the Cannon County Rescue Squad for the next budget year.

Use of Dillon Park for Adams Library's Summer Reading Program.

A block party for Woodbury Nursing Center on May 7.
