Blood Drive Sept. 15, Pancake Breakfast Sept. 17

Since 1948, the Woodbury Lions Club has been hosting American Red Cross blood drives. From one or two drives each year, then three, and in 2001 they started hosting six blood drives each year.

Individuals can donate blood six times in a year, or every 56 days.  The Woodbury Lions Club set up the third Thursday every other month, which means each drive is 8 or 9 weeks (56 or 63 days) apart.

Cannon County has an exceptional record with Red Cross because of the civic minded donors and support of the businesses and industries within the county.  It is hard to find in other communities the amount of 10 gallon donors that Cannon County has.  It is even harder to find donors who have donated more that 100 times, but Cannon County can boast of two.  Blood is always needed, and shortages occur many times.

Please come out and donate at the regular scheduled blood drive on Thursday, September 15.  Everyone knows someone who has received blood, many have had to have received blood themselves.  The life you save with a donation could possible be a family member, or even yourself.  Red Cross will be collecting from 12 pm until 6 pm.

Also, the Woodbury Lions Club will be having a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, September 17 from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Lions Memorial Building.  Price is $6.00 for all you can eat.  Pancakes and sausage.  Support the Woodbury Lions Club as the serve the community.
