The Middle Tennessee Association of REALTORS® announced their 2013 President and Board of Directors at the annual Installation Banquet.

Bill Parsley, Broker licensee with Clark Maples Realty & Auction Company began his term in January with Tennessee's fifth largest REALTOR® association, and will focus the leadership team on public service projects, government affairs, and member services.

"Bill will be a strong leader for our growing membership organization.  He brings with him many local and regional contacts, years of professional and leadership experience, and the community connection that will represent this regional membership very well," said Installing Officer Jewell McKinney, 2008 Tennessee Association of REALTORS® President.

Parsley is focused on establishing a solid connection of contacts and members in the eight county membership market.  "The issues of this membership are reflective of the issues in our local markets.  Growth is an essential part of what each community needs, and our industry is here to assist with that process.

REALTORS® are residents, too, and they understand that growth is good and challenging at the same time.  They are parents, soccer coaches, scout leaders, choir members, drivers and shoppers, too.  REALTORS® are not the reason that growth comes to an area, but are very well trained to service those already driven to be here for jobs, schools, hospitals and the best quality of life available," he said.  Parsley and his leadership team will help educate the membership to the issues, work with local leaders in all eight counties of the membership area for equitable solutions to local issues, to promote strong community contacts and service back to the community through scholarship programs, support for Books from Birth, Diabetes Association, senior citizens projects, food drives, and many local events and charities.

Parsley was Owner/Broker of Parsley & Todd Realty in Woodbury and Murfreesboro for over 12 years, and has served on many of the local association committees and projects.  He is a licensed Auctioneer with Clark Maples Realty in Murfreesboro, while keeping his hometown connections in Woodbury.  He has served on the Stones River Hospital Advisory Board, Cannon County Walking Horse Association, and Cannon County Chamber of Commerce.  He has a love for sports and the outdoors, and served as President of the Cannon County Coon Hunters Club, Cannon County High School Athletics Council, and has served on the coaching staff for Cannon County Junior High and High School Football.

"The MTAR membership is diverse and professional, serving Bedford, Cannon, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Marion, Moore and Rutherford Counties.  Each marketplace is unique and special, and our members are well trained, progressive and committed to ethical service to our clients and customers.  I am honored to serve as their President this year, and we will continue to our reputation is community-oriented, dedicated professionals that support of hometowns, our clients and our industry.  2013 is looking up and expected to be a growth year in our markets.  Our professionals will be ready and well trained to help home buyers and sellers to meet their goals and improve the communities in which we live," said Parsley.  "Middle Tennessee is poised to again lead the nation in the economic housing recovery.  REALTORS® are the voice of real estate that will lead this growth," he added.
