MURFREESBORO - Middle Tennessee held its final full-contact scrimmage of fall camp inside Floyd Stadium Saturday with a number of explosive plays on offense and jarring hits by the defense. The 76-play scrimmage had seven touchdowns and no turnovers.

"I thought we had a nice scrimmage, much better than last week," said Head Coach Rick Stockstill. "We still have a few guys hurt that did not play, and some we limited. I thought we executed better and we were in much better rhythm offensively, which is what you hope happens after another week of practice. Overall, I was pleased with our play and glad that we got out of it healthy."

The offense completed 24 of 30 passes for 230 yards and five touchdowns, while adding 180 yards and two scores on the ground.

Starting quarterback Logan Kilgore completed 6 of 7 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown after playing just two series. Backup Austin Grammer had a productive day connecting on 14 of 18 passes for 124 yards and three touchdowns. Freshman Brent Stockstill added the final touchdown pass.

"I think we looked strong today," said Kilgore. "I said it from the beginning, our off-season work has paid dividends for us. I think we are further ahead than we've ever been at this point. I think it definitely showed today."
Jordan Parker led the ground attack with 70 yards on just one carry as William Pratcher added 53 yards on six attempts. Parker and Pratcher both had touchdown runs.

Freshman Shane Tucker added 46 rushing yards while Reggie Whatley totaled 27 yards on four carries.
Demetrius Frazier and Chris Perkins led the receiving corps with four receptions each while Christian Collis, Terry Pettis, Jevontey Smith, and Shannon Smith all recorded two catches. Collis, Perkins, Pettis, Jevontey Smith, and Shannon Smith all had touchdown grabs.

Defensively, the Blue Raiders registered nine sacks and 14 tackles for loss.

Linebacker Christian Henry led the way with six stops, while defensive end Dearco Nolan and linebacker T.T. Barber added 5.5 tackles. Linebacker Stephen Roberts had five total tackles.

Nolan, who has enjoyed a strong fall camp, paced the defense with 3.0 TFLs, while defensive end Steve Rhodes added 2.0 tackles for loss.

Sacks were recorded by Nolan, Rhodes, Max Ugboaja, Alexandro Antoine (1.5), Veion Robinson, Todney Evans, Keemem Berry, and O'Shae Bridges. Jared Singletary added a half sack.

"The ones really got off to a hot start today," said Henry.

"Overall, we were solid today. We are getting a lot better and I am confident going into the season. We are not where we want to be, but we are making great strides to get to that point,” Henry added.
Placekicker Cody Clark connected on a 50-yard field goal, while also adding one from 47 yards, 46 yards, two from 43 yards and one from 35 yards. Clark also missed from 49, 46 and 43.
