Mrs. Shoemaker was a member of Salem Creek Church of Christ (formerly Minerva Drive Church of Christ). Throughout her life, she enjoyed Bible study and participated in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for seven years. She worked for the regional office of State Farm and retired from there after 36 years. She was a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro, Inner City Ministries, and Alive Hospice Camp Forget-Me-Not. She traveled extensively for missions work and for enjoyment.

Family was very important to her; in addition to being part of their lives as much as possible, she prayed for them daily. She was known for showing grace and compassion, even in her last few years, especially to those who needed help.

The family offers special thanks to Vanderbilt Hospital Palliative Care, Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital, and Alive Hospice for their exceptional care. We are forever grateful.

Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice and Salem Creek Church of Christ in memory of Mrs. Shoemaker.
