PrintBernice Ann Fresso, age 86, passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital. She was a native of Chicago, IL and raised in Cannon Co.
Survivors include her 6 children, Elaine (Joe) O'Connell of Cedar Lake, IN, Brenda (Brian) Lane of Chattanooga, Richard Thomas, Gregory Thomas, & Sheila Thomas, all of McMinnville, and James (Deborah) Fresso of Murfreesboro; Sister, Dorothy Chlopek of Buford, GA; and 9 Grandchildren, Denene (Paul) Reppa, John (Linda) O'Connell, Luke (Lisa) O'Connell, Ara Lane, Matthew Lane, Sarah (Ronnie) Roark, Shannon (Jason) Ours, Heather (Jason) Morris, & James Anthony Fresso.
Also surviving are 15 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Dennis & Willie Bell "Crete" Barrett Dennis.
Ms. Fresso was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ and was a self-employed business owner in Chicago. After returning to Tennessee, she raised cattle. She also opened her home for 2 years for women of domestic violence in order to obtain a grant for the shelter in Warren County. She served a total of 79 families during the 2 years.
Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, January 21, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. James McDonald officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11 AM until the time of service on Thursday.
