DAVID BEDWELL

A man's refusal to tell officers who stabbed him during a July 21 incident has led to a charge being filed against him.

David Allen Bedwell, 322 Hurricane Creek Rd., Woodbury, was charged on Sept. 9 with filing a false report by Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Travis Turney.

Bedwell was stabbed by his brother, Ronnie Bedwell, Jr., during an argument over morphine on July 21. When officers found David Bedwell in a car, he had stab wounds, but refused to identify his attacker.

It was later learned that Ronnie Bedwell committed the assault, and he pled guilty to reckless aggravated assault in Cannon County Circuit Court on Sept. 1. He was placed on state probation for eight years.

David Bedwell is scheduled to make his first appearance in Cannon County General Sessions Court on Oct. 4. His bond was set at $10,000.
