Beatrice Witty Burlason

Beatrice Witty Burlason, 75, Hendersonville, died December 23, 2009. Born September 20, 1934. Devoted wife and beloved mother. Preceded in death by parents, Ollie and Lena Walker Witty; sister, Lorene Byford; and brother, Thomas Ray Witty.

Survived by her husband and partner of nearly 50 years of marriage, Melvin Earl Burlason; children, Mark (Sherri) Burlason, Bruce (Alexandra) Burlason, and Charlene (Wendell) Elrod; sisters Ruth Arledge, Margie Helton, Judy Young, Hazel McFalls; brothers Joe and Everett Witty; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

She was a long time member of the Madison Church of Christ, and more recently, an active member of the Goodlettsville Church of Christ. She was a licensed beautician and worked at Chester's and Sowell's Salon upon moving to Madison, TN from Woodbury. She was also a distributor of Shaklee products for over 30 years in addition to being a homemaker.

Mr. and Mrs. Burlason were married February 14, 1960, raising their family in Goodlettsville and Henderson.

Visitation will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery on Sunday, Dec. 27 from 2-4 p.m. and and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Charles Baugh officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. Pallbearers will consist of family and friends. Interment immediately following at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association of the Sarah Cannon Research Center.
