Bass Pleads Guilty To DUI Charge



Chancellor Robert E. Corlew, III presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Friday. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:

Richard Wilson was appointed an attorney. He is charged with violation of probation. His case was reset for October 29th.

Sherila Curtis was reset for October 29, 2009. She is charged with violation of probation.

J.W. Bass pled guilty to the charge of driving under the influence. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $350.00 fine and paying the court costs. He was also ordered to serve 48 hours in jail and he will lose his driver's license for 1 year. In another case, Bass pled guilty to the charge of driving while license revoked 2nd offense. He was sentenced to 6 months in the county jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, paying a $50.00 fine and serving 45 days in jail. That sentence was ordered to run concurrent with Bass' driving under the influence sentence.

Sarah Davis was reset for December 17, 2009. She is charged with violation of probation.

James Nipper was reset for December 17, 2009. He is charged with violation of probation.

Cynthia Taylor's petition for a suspended sentence was granted. She was placed on supervised state probation for 3 years and 6 months and ordered to pay the court costs at a rate of $50.00 per month.

Michael Brown was reset for October 29, 2009. He is charged with violation of probation.

Nathaniel Wanner was reset for October 29, 2009. He is charged with violation of probation.

Timothy Milligan was reset for October 29, 2009. He is charged with violation of probation.

Lori Manier was granted a furlough by Chancellor Corlew.

Nina Odom Simpson was reset for a plea day on October 30, 2009.

David W. Johnson was reset for a plea day on October 30, 2009.

General Sessions Court 10-6

Judge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Court on Tuesday. Some of the results from the various cases which appeared on the docket included:

Ethan Taylor was bound over to the January 2010 term of the Cannon County Grand Jury. He is charged with 2 counts of theft under $500.00, criminal trespass, 2 counts of aggravated burglary, aggravted criminal trespass, theft over $1,000.00 and retaliation for past actions.

Daniel Vickers pled guilty to the charge of reckless endangerment without a weapon. He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in the county jail. That sentence was partially suspended upon an equal amount of time on probation, serving 6 days in jail, paying a $500.00 fine and court costs.

Circuit Court 10-8

Judge Don Ash presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Thursday. Some of the results from the various cases included:

Jason M. Brown was appointed an attorney and reset for October 30th. He is charged with violation of probation.

The remaining cases on Judge Ash's docket were orders of protections. In those matters Judge Ash either granted the orders of protection, extended them or dismissed them.
