School children in the Middle Tennessee area will get a chance to see live theater in the next few weeks as The Arts Center of Cannon County presents “Bambi: A Life in the Woods.” Based on the original story by Felix Salten and adapted by James Devita, this is the tale of the young deer, Bambi, growing up and becoming heir to his father, the Great Prince.

Bambi’s life in the woods begins happily. There are forest animals to play with – Friend Hare, the chattery squirrel, the noisy screech owl, and Bambi’s twin cousins, frail Gobo and beautiful Faline. But, winter comes, and Bambi learns that the woods hold danger. The first snowfall makes food hard to find. Then there is Man. He comes to the forest with weapons than can wound an animal. Join us as we watch Bambi grow up into a handsome stag and become “The Prince of the Forest”.
