Bad Checks Prove (Court) Costly For Graham



Passing worthless checks turned out to be a costly experience for a local man in Cannon County General Sessions Court on Tuesday, March 20.

Timothy Craig Graham pled guilty to three Worthless Check charges. On each count he was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal probation time, was fined $25 and assessed court costs. He was also ordered to pay restitution to the victims in the total amount of $1,3045.55. Two of the probation sentences will run consecutively.

In other cases presided over by Judge Susan Melton Tuesday:

• Melissa Gail Andrews pled guilty to Driving On Revoked License. Sentencing was set for June 19.

• Todd Andrew Baxter entered into an agreed order of retirement for 120 days on a charge of Livestock Running At Large. He will pay the county’s Litigation Tax and repair his fencing.

• Aaron J. Brewer agreed to revocation on a charge of Violation Of Probation. His probation was extended for 11 months, 28 days. The violation terminated his judicial diversion for a Simple Possession conviction. He was ordered to serve one day in jail, placed on probation for 11 months, 28 days, pay a $750 fine and was assessed court costs.

• Rebecca Paige Bynum failed to appear on a Violation Of Probation charge and a Capias was issued for her arrest.

• Alyssa Marie Coleman pled guilty to Domestic Assault. She was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, placed on probation for an equal amount of time, ordered to pay court costs, ordered to have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family, and to receive a Domestic Violence Inventory assessment. Coleman also agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. She was ordered to serve 60 days in jail and her probation was extended for 9 months, 29 days. Her sentence will run consecutively.

• Chad Keaton Conner pled guilty to Driving Without A License. He was given a 30-day suspended sentence, fined $2 and assessed court costs.

• Marty J. Cooper, Jr. agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. He was ordered to serve his original 6-month sentence. It will run concurrent with a sentence he is currently serving in Warren County.

• Jason Lewis Davenport pled guilty to Driving On Revoked License 2nd Offense. He was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal probation time, was fined $50, assessed court costs and will lose his driver’s license for a period to be determined by the Tennessee Department of Safety.

• Jimmy L. Estes agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. He was ordered to serve 28 days in jail, his probation was extended for 21 months, 2 days, and he was ordered to pay costs, fines and probation fees as directed by the probation service.

• Regina Farless agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. She was ordered to serve 30 days in jail. Upon release she will be placed back on probation for 10 months, 26 days. She was also ordered to pay costs, fines and restitution as directed by the probation service.

• Roy Michael Foust agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. He was ordered to serve 14 days in jail. Upon release he will be placed back on probation for 23 months, 28 days. He agreed to serve his entire sentence for any future violations. 

• Linda Neal Heery, charged with Violation Of Probation, was dismissed at the request of the state.

• Jason Lee Hodge agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. He was ordered to serve 90 days in the county jail and his probation was extended for 10 months, 24 days.

• Charlie James King failed to appear on a charge of Violation Of Probation. A Capias was issued for his arrest.

• Larry Dean Leftwich, charged with Violation Of Probation, failed a court-ordered drug screen, testing positive for marijuana. His bond was revoked, he was remanded to the custody of the sheriff’s department, and his case was reset for April 24.

• Timothy Daniel Meeks agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. He was ordered to serve his entire sentence of 11 months, 29 days.

• Rosalind Moore failed to appear on a Violation Of Probation charge. A Capias was issued for her arrest.

• Kermit James Peebles, III agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. He was ordered to serve 28 days in the county jail and his probation was extended for 11 months, 1 day. He was also ordered to pay costs, fines and fees as directed by the probation service.

• James Lee Rayburn was ordered to serve 45 days in jail on a guilty plea to Driving On Revoked License 2nd Offense. He was also placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days and he will lose his driver’s license for a period to be determined by the Tennessee Department of Safety.

• Terry Lee Reed, Jr. pled guilty to Driving Without A License. He was given a 30-day suspended sentence, equal probation time, fined $2 and assessed court costs.

• Timothy D. Richards pled guilty to Driving Without A License. He was given a 30-day suspended sentence, equal probation time, fined $2 and assessed court costs.

• Shawn William Roy pled guilty to Driving Without A License. He was given a 30-day suspended sentence, equal probation time, fined $2 and assessed court costs.

• Joseph Matthew Starnes, charged with Violation Of Probation, failed a court-ordered drug screen by testing positive for marijuana. His bond was revoked, he was remanded to the custody of the sheriff’s department, and his case was reset for April 24. 

• Brooklyn Lenice Tankard pled guilty to Driving Without A License. She was given a 30-day suspended sentence, equal probation time, fined $2 and assessed court costs.

• Cynthia Denise Thomas pled guilty to Driver’s License Violation (retired case). She was ordered to serve her entire sentence.

• Kayla Nichole Tramel pled guilty to Driving On Suspended License. Sentencing was set for June 19.

• Victoria Hope Winchester pled guilty to Disorderly Conduct. She was given a partially suspended sentence of 30 days and ordered to serve 14 days in jail. She also agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation and her probation period was extended for 11 months, 11 days.

• Candace Brook Vickers pled guilty to Theft Under $500. She was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal time on probation, was ordered to pay restitution on the amount of $500 to the victim and assessed court costs. She was also ordered to have no contact with the victim.

• Wayne D. Manier had a Violation Of Probation charge reset for May 24 after he was appointed the public defender and assessed a $50 fee.

• Matthew Lawrence Feragola had Driving On Suspended License and Violation Of Probation charges reset for May 8.

• Michael Lynn Adcock was appointed the public defender, assessed an administrative fee of $50, and had a charge of Violation Of Probation reset for April 17.

• Ronald Glenn Bedwell, Jr. had a charge of Violation Of Probation reset for May 22.

• Bobby Jerome Davenport, Jr.  had a Violation Of Probation charge reset for May 8.

• Travis Joe Davenport had charges of Driving On Suspended License, Speeding (68/55), Financial Responsibility and Seatbelt Law reset for June 12.

• Ira Dean Hanes, charged with Driving On Revoked License 2nd Offense, was reset for June 12.

• David Jonathan Miller had a Violation Of Probation charge reset for May 8.

• Aaron Vincent Moon had a Violation Of Probation charge reset for May 8.

• David Anthony Hillis, charged with Driving On Revoked License and Speeding (76/55), was reset for June 12.

• David Wayne McCugh had a DUI 2nd Offense charge reset for June 5.

• Patrick Dewayne Clark was appointed the public defender, assessed an administrative fee of $50 and had a Domestic Assault charge reset for April 24.

• Tina Elaine Meador Mullen had three Petitions For Suspended Sentences reset for a date to be determined.

• Princess Nakisa Odom was appointed the public defender, assessed a fee of $50 and had a Violation Of Probation charge reset for April 3.

• William Kevin Bryant was appointed the public defender, assessed an administrative fee of $50 and had a charge of Illegal Possession Of A Firearm reset for April 17.

• Julie Marie Sparkman had charges of Driving On Revoked 1st Offense, Financial Responsibility and Seatbelt Law reset for June 12.

• Joseph Matthew Taylor had charges of DUI 1st Offense and Insurance Law reset for May 8.

• Joshua Lee Underwood had a Violation Of Probation charge reset for April 24 after he was appointed the public defender and assessed a $50 fee.

• Deborah Fran White (Palmer) had a DUI 2nd Offense charge reset for June 19.

• Robert Michael Wimberly had reset for June 19 charges of DUI 1st Offense, Possession Of Schedule III Controlled Substance, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Speeding (37/20).

One Pleads Guilty In Circuit Court

Chancellor Robert E. Corlew presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Monday, March 19.

• Brady Cunningham pled guilty to DUI He was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days in jail, fined $350, assessed court costs, ordered to attend DUI School and will lose his license for one year. Cunningham also agreed to revocation for Violation Of Probation. He was ordered to serve his original 2-year sentence and was assessed court costs. The two sentences will run concurrent.

• Ronnie G. Bedwell, Jr. was appointed the public defender and his Violation Of Probation case was reset for April 30.

• Sheila Rains was appointed the public defender and her VOP case was reset for April 30.

• Mark Robinson’s VOP case was reset for May 21.

• Cynthia Taylor was appointed the public defender and her VOP case was reset for April 30.

• Jerry Barrett’s Motion For Contact was reset for April 30.
