Back In The (Political) Game: Local Republicans To Reorganize

After a period of relative inactivity, the Republican Party is making plans to rejuvenate itself in Cannon County.

In an effort to generate support for its slate of candidates on the ballot in the State General Election on Nov. 2, local Republicans will hold a reorganizational meeting on Oct. 12.

The meeting will take place at the Cannon County Senior Center, starting at 7 p.m.

The following Leadership Officer positions are to be filled: Chair; Vice-Chair (opposite sex from Chair); Treasurer and Secretary.

Once the Slate of Officers are in place, a motion will be made to elect a By Laws Committee consisting of five members to serve and make recommendations to the full membership so that they can be voted and approved at future meetings.

After that there will be discussion about the frequency of future meetings and growing the party in numbers, in knowledge and in impact.

Conservatives must address the damage being done at the local, state and federal level by liberal politicians, local GOP organizers say.

TNGOP Announces 2010 Tennessee Victory Leadership Team

In other political news, the Tennessee Republican Party today announced the 2010 Tennessee Victory Leadership Team that will lead and fund TNGOP get out the vote efforts this year. Victory 2010 will work to coordinate volunteer outreach through mail and phones, identify voters, organize a 72-hour turnout plan, and coordinate grassroots activities across the state.

“The Tennessee Republican Party has a track record of very successful get out the vote efforts,” said Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney. “With our team’s exceptional leadership and an extraordinarily strong GOP ticket topped by Bill Haslam, I believe this year is going to be one of the most successful we’ve ever experienced. We’re not taking the heavy turnout in GOP primaries for granted and will continue to work as hard as we can to make sure voters get to the polls in October and November. I want to thank our leadership team for their efforts and we’re looking forward to outnumbering Democrats at the polls this election year.”

Members of the 2010 Tennessee Victory Leadership team are as follows:
