Glad to hear Jackie Bryson is back home following a lengthy stay in the hospital.

Get well wishes to Mike Dutton who has undergone some recent knee surgery again. Also speedy recovery to Don Rigsby who is currently in Centennial Medical Ctr.

Congratulations are in order for Charles and Teena Cooper who became the proud parents of Charleena Sophia Cooper born January 14th at 11:11 a.m. Miss Charleena weighed in at 8.52 lbs and measured 20 ins. in length. She is the little sister of Derrick Cooper, Leslie Devers, and Angeleena and TJ George. Landen and Courtney Devers and Jonah Cooper are excited about their new aunt.

It was a bitter-sweet night Thursday night the 10th when the Lady Knights and Knights welcomed the Eastside Tigerettes and Tigers to the last home game for the 8th grade athletes.  Recognition was given to Samantha Gaither, Hannah Whited, Kirsten Garrison, Elana Russo, Alyssa Whited, Emma Davenport, Sarah Hood, Houston Dorris, Ryan Baines, Austin Ramsey, Tyler King and Derrick Logsdon members of the basketball teams and Destiny Melton a member of the cheerleading squad.

The teams travel to Westside for a makeup game when weather permits and then on to Woodland Thursday night before entering the County Tournament the week of January 28th.

It was another "White Possum" night Saturday night for P-pa and me when we treated Ray and Anita Patrick to their first trip to this restaurant located in Smithville.

Sunday, January 6th, Bonnie and Allison Rigsby, Jennifer Buterbaugh and her aunt, Angela, Linda Gatlin, DeAnna Reed, Vicky Walker and I traveled to Nashville to the Tennessee Women's Prison for a great service led by Patty Seals. Although it was stormy and raining, several of those housed there attended and took part.

Seems several people enjoyed the story printed in last week's column about Juicy Leach. I have received some more of his wise(?) colloquialisms (did you look that up?). Here is one that P-pa remembers: A lady in a fancy car drove up for a fill up on gas. For you young'uns out there, a service station was that - someone came out and filled up your vehicle, washed your windshield and might even check your oil. Anyway, as the lady was paying Juicy for the fill up, she asked about him washing her windshield which evidently he wasn't accustomed to doing. It just so happened a water bucket was sitting close by whereas he picked it up, threw it on her windshield and said as he was walking away, "Now turn ya wipers on". Oh as a side note, that water bucket had been sitting there for several weeks. Makes one wonder what all was in it.

Happy birthday this week begins with Bobby Francis and Bill Fletcher who celebrate theirs the 25th. Moving past the 26th and on to the 27th is when Charles Robert Bodie Workman turns the big 1. Jody Tuck's is the next day but he is far from 1 or even 21! Finishing up the week on the 29th are Maxine Gaither and Frank Patrick two more who aren't spring chickens! May each of you have a blessed day on your special day.

On January 23rd a milestone of 70 years will be met when Mitchell and Irene Dunn celebrate their anniversary. What a testimony!! January 26th, Todd and Tracy Hollandsworth will reach their 21st year. Happy anniversary to both couples and may you have many more.
