The girls are back and full of tales to tell! Rita Davis, Kim Francis, Angie Whited and Megan Davis spent a few days on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico.

Welcome to this world, Easton Mingle Harrell who entered this world on October 26th. He weighed in at a hefty 9 lbs., 7 oz. And was 20-3/4" in length. His parents are Cory and Brooke Mingle Harrell. Oakley is his big brother. Proud great-grandmother is Opha Jones and extra proud grandparents are Jimmy and Elaine Mingle. The Harrells make their home in Murfreesboro.

Donna Nichols returned from New York after visiting several days with grandchildren, Drew and Canyon Zimmer. Of course parents, Chris and Sara Drue, were on hand but seems grandma really enjoyed the boys. Wonder of wonders!

It was another trail riding trip around Jamestown recently for Terry and Patrick Thomas, Jonathan Francis and Callie, Greg Francis and Bobby and Brenda Francis.

Jim and Donna Sherrell were in the Smokies and saw a little of the snow which closed down the Mountain road.

Friday the 26th, Kindergarten thru 4th grade enjoyed the day at Cedarwood Pumpkin Patch in McMinnville. Several parents and grandparents also made the trip.

Jason and Jay Reed and Megan Osborne participated in the 4th annual Bruce Gilley Memorial 5K & 10 K "Run for Him" on Saturday, October 27th in Murfreesboro. The race is a memorial to Bruce Gilley and fund-raiser for the Bruce Gilley Scholarship Fund to send kids to camp. Bruce's parents Gary and Melissa Gilley are former Auburntown residents. Jason Reed placed 1st in the male 5K and Jay Reed and Megan Osborne placed 2nd in their age groups.

Sunday night the 28th, Prosperity Baptist Youth and several members were in Baxter at Cedar Hill Baptist Church where the youth presented the Gospel for their worship hour. Good job.

It was a good time around town Halloween night when lots of visitors made their annual (some the first time) trip for candy and other goodies. After all our "special" visitors had made their run, our house filled up with family and were served a very special "punch"! (no alcohol involved).

First reporting of the new year and here are the results: Making the Principal's List were Garrett Goff, Edward Schultz, Katelyn Duggin, Dylan Avera, Rachel Hale, MaLeah Scott, Kiley Hughes, Ryan Scott, Anna Leach, LuLu Maier, Corinne and Hattie Fann, Mackenzie Turney, Hannah Junker, Sharon Bessant, Karsten Odom, Adrianna Reed, and Alyssa Whited.

On the Honor Roll are Wesley Patton, Shellby Parker, Alyssa Williams, Bradly Vickers, Tyler King, Mattea Thomas, Shawn M Matheny, Brendon Cox, Donavan Winsett, Seth and Shelby Seamans, Baleigh Fulkerson, Stone Bashm and Samantha Gaither.

 The Merit List included Caitlyn Crook, Carly Brown, Anna Williams, Tyger Kennedy, Tyler Cagle, Houston Dorris, Elaina Russo, Hagen Fann, Lauryn Crawley, Madison Gaither, Alex Ramsey, Logan Young, Kirsten Garrison, Hannah and Justin Whited, Brenden Reed, Hunter Patterson, Katie Hancock, Emma Davenport and Sarah Hood.

During the first 9 weeks, there were 40 students who had perfect attendance. That means, no tardiness or signing out - it was a FULL day of school for these 40_ Congratulations to all of the above. Keep up the good work.

It's fall and basketball time. The Lady Knights and Knights opened up their season by competing in the Best of the West Tournament held at DeKalb West. Both teams brought home big wins against New Middleton Elementary. Congratulations and good luck in the upcoming games. Making the All Tournament teams were Samantha Gaither, MaLeah Scott, Hannah Whited, Kirsten Garrison, Madison Gaither, Tyler King, Austin Ramsey, Bradly Vickers, Brendon Cox, and Houston Dorris.

Now it's time to get started on the regular season. Last Thursday night, they hosted the opening game at home against the Woodland Warriors. Will let you know the outcome next week. Opening up the games were the B-teamers at 4:30.

They will host their next two games also - the 15th against the Woodbury Cubs and the 15th with the Short Mt. Bears. Both games will begin with the B-teamers at 4:30 and regular game at 6:00. Monday the 26th is a travel date with the Eastside Tigers. So come on out and support these young and good athletes and while here at home enjoy the delicious hamburgers and fixin's at the Concession Stand.

Another night of enjoying no cooking with a delicious meal at the Auburn Community Center. It's the good fish and chicken fry and all the trimmin's sponsored by the Auburn Basketball teams and cheerleaders. Be there tomorrow night (Wednesday) between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. to eat in or take out (compared to the last one, you might ought to be there early to be sure and get it all.) The price per plate is $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 4-10 and free to those 3 years and younger. What better bargain can you get for a delicious meal. Also included in the price your pick of a delicious homemade dessert.

It's birthday time and beginning our wishes this week are twins J.C. and J.B. Hughes and quads, Erin, Kristen, Garrett and Marsall McReynolds all on the 7th. Lucas Mullinax is the 8th. Lynn Ellis, Rex Gaither and Kendall Duggin tack on another year the 9th. Tyler King hits the 14 mark on the 10th. Graham Jackson gets his 15th on the 11th the same day Quintin Dodd celebrates. Katey Sheerer's is the 12th and finishing up the week on the 13th is Taylor Jackson. Happy birthday you all.

It was Friday, November 12, 1976, when Beverly Harris took on the job of raising Jerry Bryan. Wow, Jerry, that's 36 years she has struggled to mature you! Anyway Happy Anniversary to a special couple.
