Wednesday the 15th was a special Valentine's Day for residents of NCH, Smithville when "Send Me Youth" from Prosperity Baptist Church made a visit and passed out cards to them. A supper meal at Arby's was enjoyed following their visit.

Making the special trip were William and Grant Buterbaugh, Mary Beth Patterson, Emily Keaton, Adrianna Reed, Shelby Clayborn and leader, Janna Womack.

Betty and Terry Thomas attended the MTSU Ladies Blue Raiders basketball game Thursday the 16th.

Double 16 birthdays - one for Shelby Clayborn and the other for Emily Keaton. Both enjoyed separate parties with family members but then joined together Saturday the 18th with a shopping party. Tagging along were Joanie Blackburn and Holly Clayborn.

Another big birthday party was given Sunday the 19th for Irene Dun who turned 93. Several family members were on hand to help her celebrate this milestone.

Our guests for President's Day were Kullon and Shiloh Patrick. P-pa and I picked up Janna Womack and Adrianna Reed and took off to Morrison where we picked up Rylon and Amaieah Morrison and mom, Bethany. We enjoyed the day at Jungle Gym in McMinnville followed by a delicious Mexican lunch at Jalico.

Auburn School was well represented at the 4-H Regional Public Speaking on Tuesday, the 21st. After placing first at county speaking they got to advance to regional with ten counties and an average of 20 speakers per grade. Lots of wonderful speeches and great children working on a key quality for the future.

Dannica Lillian Hughes did not place in the top 5 but she did really well among the 20 plus 4th graders from ten different counties. She was one of the two placing first at county to receive the opportunity to advance to regionals. A great accomplishment in itself.

Makayla Taylor, 5th grade, received participation as well. There were 18 in the 5th grade regional speaking.

Alyssa Sylvester placed 2nd in 6th grade. Jesse Vaught also participated.

Kiley Hughes tied for 3rd in 7th grade division! They had to decide a tie breaker so she ended up with 4th place.

It is with a sad heart that we learn of the sudden passing of Thomas Brown Mullinax who died Sunday the 19th. Our thoughts and prayers for his loved ones.

It's time for March and who is celebrating this week. Danielle Howell Smith is the first one up on the 2nd. Megan Davis, Pat Bryson and Joyce Dutton have the 3rd sewed up. Taking hold of the 6th are Katherine Willard, Ladye Allen and Josh Osborne . Finishing up on the 7th are Dwight Saddler and Mary Beth Patterson. Happy birthday to all of you.

Wow it was wa-a-a-a-ay back on March 7th, 1953, when Marvin and Ruth Patrick Davenport make a commitment in marriage. Whew - that's 64 years poor ole Ruth has had to tell Marv what to do!! Happy anniversary to two special people.
