New York will never be the same! Ernest and Rita Davis, Angie and Hannah Whited, Kim and Callie Francis, Megan Davis and Cynthia Jones with several others from Cannon County made the trip recently to enjoy what Christmas is like up north. Although cold and windy, it was awe-inspiring to see ground zero and Lady Liberty. It was fun to view the Plaza Hotel which was used in the "Home Alone 2" movie as well as taking a cold but beautiful carriage ride, sit around Time Square trying to keep warm with coffee and enjoy the Broadway show of "The Lion King". Lots more was enjoyed but they are now home.

Ruth and Marvin Davenport were in Pigeon Forge over the weekend to support the group By Faith at the annual Smokey Mtn Get Away. This is a 2-day event held at the Holiday Inn.

Kullon and Shiloh Patrick with Adrianna Reed spent the night with Ppa and me Saturday. We (minus Ppa) took in the night time Christmas parade at Gordonsville. Dad, Kyle, and Mom, Shannon, were in Nashville to attend his work-place Christmas dinner.

Wednesday night, there were 29 ladies who gathered at the home of Cindy Moody for the annual Women's Prayer Cross Ministry Christmas get together. It began with a delicious meal catered by Sundance Restaurant in Smithville, followed by a Bible Study on "Who is Mary". Afterwards there was a time of sharing prayer needs and prayer with each to be given a cross and "Footprints in the Sand" poem. The night ended with the annual ornament or Christmas item exchange.

Our thoughts and prayers for the Josh Stansbury and family on the recent passing of his father. The family travelled to Louisiana last week to be with other family members.

If you're in for some Christmas theater, be sure to attend "Elf, Jr the Musical" performance now at the Arts Center of Cannon County. Mackenzie Turney, Hattie Fann, Lily Crook and Sharon Bessant are some of the "stars" of our community performing.
