Thursday the 6th was a good day to be at the Don Fox Park in Lebanon. Janna Womack, Gracie Smith, Kullon and Shiloh Patrick and Ppa and I enjoyed the day there followed by a "delicious" meal at McDonald's - Janna's favorite place!!

Sunday, Gracie with mom, Lori and Dad, Nick took off to Ft. Walton Beach, FL for a week's worth of sunning and swimming and eating and enjoying a time of relaxation with other family members.

Betty and Terry Thomas were in Ashville, NC for a week. The first part was to watch son, Patrick, pull in several more blues showing horses. The roses and blues have become a common experience for Patrick.

After the show was over, they enjoyed some relaxation trail riding.

Cassandra Hughes completed her 2nd marathon on Sunday, the 9th at the 39th Chicago Marathon and guess who she "ran" into but Chad Crawley who also completed the run. There were an estimated 45,000 runners and an estimated 1.3 million supporters/cheer section including C.J.'s dedicated husband, Derrick as well as Lauryn and Colin Crawley to cheer on their dad.

Of course from the looks of Facebook, Derrick did his usual great photography while touring the city.

C.J. also reported that it was a busy marathon weekend there as the city also hosted the current multi-Olympian Meb, a Cubs' and Bulls' game, Kanye West, and President Obama. The "Meb" is Mebrahtom Keflezighi who is the oldest at age 40 U.S. Olympic runner in history. He was running his 70th marathon for his brother who died at the age of 70 due to alzeimers.

And don't forget the Danny Russell Fults Running 1.4.U. 5K and one mile walk/run and breakfast coming up the 29th.

Congratulations to our Cannon County Middle and Elementary Cross Country teams. They were in Macon Co Saturday the 8th to compete in the Regional Qualifiers. They are BOTH Knoxville State Bound. Auburn Knights who are members of the team are Leighanne Dodd (9th overall JV), Kiley Hughes (15th overall Varsity) and Keilee Campbell (21st overall Varsity are among the runners participating.

Liley Hughes, Caitlin Dodd and Baleigh Campbell are among the elementary team. Most, if not all, of the team runners set new personal times bringing the middle school girls team to 3rd earning their spot for the state with elementary team runners 3rd earning their spot for state.

It was a night for kings and queens to be crowned. That was Friday the 7th when the Roger Turney Gym was converted into a beautiful setting to place crowns upon the head of Krista Bryson and Morgan Eidson who are the Junior Queen and King respectively with crowns on the Senior Queen and King, Jada Bobo and Allen Paul Leach, respectively.

Thanks to everyone who made this fundraiser a great success. A total of (plus or minus some) $13,000 was raised.

The basketball teams traveled for their games - to Woodland and then to Woodbury. Both teams suffered loses. They will host the Short Mt. Bears Thursday of this week. Come out and support these young athletes and while there enjoy those great hamburgers at the concession stand.
