Congratulations to Auburn Baptist Church. They had a note burning ceremony Sunday the 28th having paid off their Recreation Hall in 8 years!

Here's another day you won't have to get hot and sweaty over a stove to cook supper AND you won't have to clean up the kitchen.

Come to the Community Center this Thursday the 8th between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. for a takeout or a sit- down meal of chicken fried chicken. This comes with gravy, mashed potatoes, okra, pinto beans, corn, delicious dessert and drink. All of this for the price of $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for 5-10 years of age and free if you're 4 or under. And this is being prepared by another one of our great chefs, Todd Hollandsworth. All proceeds go to Auburn School.

Our cheerleaders are getting an early start for a fundraiser. They are hosting their 2nd annual sports golf tournament. It is set for this Saturday the 10th at Smithville Golf Club. Shotgun time is 8:00 a.m. It is $65 per person, red tees are $5 and mulligans are also $5. Chick-fil-A is providing breakfast (yum). There is limited space available so contact Cheyrel Pursell at 615-464-4342 or B.J. Bobo at 615-478-2665 to get in on this.

Door prizes will be given and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place receives cash pay outs. Putting competition is for a flat screen smart TV! Wow. So come and support our cheerleaders.

We have a TV celebrity in our community. Her celebrity status really comes from being a wife plus a mother plus a soldier/veteran. However, Jennifer Melton Duggin is Staff Sergeant in the Tennessee Arm National Guard and is featured in a recent installment of Veterans Coming Home on Nashville Public Television. Congrats Jen!

We have some really good runners in our Cross County sports. They were at Warren County High School for a meet this past week.

The girls and boys both took home 1st place as a team. Our own Kiley Hughes came in 3rd.

In the boys division, Austin Duggin ran his 5K in 18.32 which was a first place for him.

Not only are the Varsity runners doing good but the Junior Varsity girls came in 2nd as a team right behind the varsity.

Saturday the 27th was a hot day to be running but run they did at Sharp Springs Park in Smyrna. No surprise here but Hannah Whited finished 1st with the girls team finishing 2nd overall! Congrats to Hannah and the team.

Saturday was a big day for Weston Hale. Parents, Alan and Maggie, hosted his one-year-old birthday party with a Disney theme big on Mickey and Minnie Mouse. He actually turned one the 1st of September. Happy belated Weston.

Now it's time for this week's birthdays. Jared Saddler and his nephew, Evan Saddler, both celebrate the 7th. Jared is little older! The 9th belongs to Rachel Melton. Briar Jakes celebrates the 10th. Dalton Gaither, Angela Moore and Todd Hollandsworth all get to eat cake and ice cream on the 11th. The 12th is when Ed Faille celebrates the same day Betty King turns 69. Happy birthday to all of you.

No anniversaries listed for this week.
