Donna Nichols is home after spending the Thanksgiving Holidays in Canyon, TX with daughter, Sara Drue Zimmer and family, Chris, Drew and Canyon. She enjoyed taking a look at the Palo Duro Canyon.

Enjoying the parade and other sights and sounds of the Christmas season in Gatlinburg were Eric and Beth Saddler, Evan and Ella, Jared and Nikki Saddler, Isabell, Lexie. Jake and Jack, Mark and Kendall Duggin, Brent, Brian and Katelyn.

The Christmas parties continue. Friday the 4th, it was off to the Christmas Gala Event for Dusty and Tiffany Junker. The gala, with the theme "A Holiday Homecomint", took place at the Oaklands Mansion, Murfreesboro. Although a bit cold, the Junkers had a good time.

It was the annual Christmas gathering for Janice Richey's Sunday School Class of Auburn Baptist Church. She always cooks up a great meal and those who enjoyed this year's culinary talent were husband, Charles, mom, Kizzie Lou Vance, Robbie Owen, Ernest and Rita Davis, Hallean Tate, Paul Edward and Betsy Leach, Dan Nichols, Jimmy Mingle, Millie King, Brenda and Bobby Francis, Pat and Mike Bryson, Bobby Bogle and Shirley Mingle.

Jerry and Beverly Bryan were in McKenzie Saturday the 5th to celebrate the graduation of their daughter, Rebecca Tate from Bethel University. Rebecca received her Masters of Arts in Education degree and guess what, Becca wasn't the only Cannon Countian to receive that degree. Carlene Brown Judkins came in from North Carolina to receive her diploma. Congratulations to both ladies.

He's an early Christmas present for Phillip and Alanna Vaught. Jess Michael Vaught was born Wednesday weighing in at 7 lbs, 1 oz. He has an excited big brother, John Buryl. Congratulations!

Austin Duggin was treated to a big 16th birthday bash by Wade and Jennifer Duggin. Lots of pizza, a fire pit and a basketball cupcake cake were enjoyed by many of his family and friends.

Betty Thomas spent last week in Cedar Grove with son, Patrick. She helped make Christmas "come alive"!

There's never a good time to lose a loved one but it seems Christmas is an especially difficult time. Here are 3 that were connected to our community: Barbara Asbury whose husband, Bill, passed away Sunday. Lisa Reed's grandmother, Minnie Davis, passed away Tuesday and Donna Nichols received word Wednesday that her cousin, Jody Dickey, had also passed way. Our thoughts and prayers go up for each loved one's family and friends.

Joe Turner opens up our birthday list this week when he celebrates the 18th along with Memphis Reed who turns 8 that same day. Samantha Gaither hits her 17th day on the 19th and Helen Fults celebrates the day with her. The 21st Jordan Blackburn and McKenzie Turney have their special days and finishes up this week's list.
