Here is some more Thanksgiving news: Enjoying a delicious meal at the home of Hallean Tate were Robert and Wytona Lester, David Tate, and Ronnie and Renae Tate and Naomi . Bella the dog was also treated to the Thanksgiving meal when she ate the leftovers.


Perry Robinson was in Murfreesboro for the holidays eating with and spending the night with daughter, Deborah Givens.


Friday after Thanksgiving there sure were a lot of stuffed turkeys at Jimbo's!


Wednesday, thirty-three ladies and young ladies of Prosperity Baptist Church enjoyed their annual Women's Prayer Cross Christmas meeting. It was held at Sundance Restaurant in Smithville. Devotion led by Linda Hayes with prayer requests and prayer time followed the delicious meal. "Emcee" Joanie Blackburn then tried her best to control the ornament exchange but due to all the laughter and fun, she sure had a tough time.

Tuesday night the DeKalb West Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs entered the Roger Turney gym for some great competition. The Lady Knights continued their winning streak. For the Knights, it was a touch-and-go game with the Knights leading most of the time. The 3rd quarter was their downfall but it was still a close game until about midway thru the 4th quarter when the Bulldogs pulled off a 10-point win.

Monday, December 14th, the Knights are hosting the Woodbury Cubs. B-team games begin at 4:30 with "varsity" starting their play at 6:00 p.m. Don't forget the delicious hamburgers and hot dogs as well as other concessions available. So you can eat there and not worry about clean up at the house! But do come out and support these young athletes.

This Saturday is the big day for the "Running 14U" fundraiser for Russell and Helen Fults and to help raise awareness for dementia and hydrocephalus. Arrive anytime between 7:00 and 11:00 a.m. for the pancake breakfast. The runs or walk begin at 8:00 a.m. Sit the runs out if you wish but come and enjoy the breakfast and watch the fun.

Following the horseback riding and good eats with Bobby and Brenda Francis at their "campgrounds" near Jamestown, Patrick Thomas of Cedar Grove and Kassie Miller of Bell Buckle came home with Terry Thomas to spend the weekend with him and Betty.

Is birthday time already! Opening up on the 9th with one is Chris Fletcher who hits the 32 mark. The 10th belongs to Ken Turnery. Tom Allen puts another year away on the 11th. Jackie Hays and Jillian Brooke Hughes celebrate the 12th. Celebrating their day on the 13th are Matt Gaither and Stephen Joyce. Lillie Willard has a birthday on the 14th. Skipping over to the 16th, it's John Dodd, Cassie Leyhew and Ryan Baines who get cake and ice cream. Ending this week's wishes are Mike Bryson, Dallas Joyce and Matthew Swift. Happy birthday everybody
