Congratulations to Alayna Reed who won the 2015 Middle Tennessee Electric Membership short story about the advantages of a cooperative. This year's theme was "Electric Cooperatives: Powering Potential." She earned a cash prize and a trip to Washington, D.C. where she will meet U.S. representatives and senators and get to explore the museums, memorials and monuments.
It was 6 years ago when Shannon Young underwent a double lung transplant when doctors told him life expectancy was 5 years. It is with a sad heart to learn of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are for his family, parents Preston "Red" and Shirley Young, children, Amy and Logan Young and sister, Keisha Young as well as other loved ones.
Our condolences to Dorothy Nichols Groom whose husband, William, passed away this week.
Contributing the following running information was C. J. Hughes:
Marna and Ameialis Higgins, Kayla Hughes, Kiley and C.J. Hughes ran in the Run Your Cookies Off 5K. Kiley placed first Overall Female and placed ninth out of men and women in the total race. C.J. placed first in the 30-39 age division and tenth overall in the race. Kayla, Marna, and Amelia all did very well! They were ranking half way up the bar out of 71. Way to go Auburn ladies!!! Thank you C.J. for this news.
Kullon Patrick and Rylon and Amaieah Morrison spent the week (or most of it) with Alayna and Adrianna Reed. They attended Vacation Bible School at Prosperity.
Tuesday was a perfect day for a trip to the Nashville Zoo. P-pa and I were just brave enough or maybe it's crazy enough to treat Kullon, Rylon, Amaieah, Alayna and Adrianna as well as Gracie Smith, Janna Womack, Bethany Morrison, Shannon and Shiloh Patrick and DeAnna Reed with a trip there. We invited Daxton Patrick but he was afraid it might be too hot! We topped off the trip with a meal at Arby's.
Wednesday, my sister, Wanda Yule, flew in to stay a few days with us and to attend the 2015 Auburn School Reunion.
Some others who took flight were Hallean Tate and Robert and Wytona Lester. They flew out Friday to land in Oregon where they rented a car to travel as far as they could and get back in a week's time.

Friday, July 13th, 2014, dawned a dark and rainy day. However, by midafternoon, the rain had stopped and the sky had turned a beautiful blue in time for a beautiful wedding at Prosperity Baptist Church. This is the date that Benjamin Ryan Womack took Janna Olivia Reed as his bride. Happy 1st anniversary! Saturday, June 16th, 1979, was the day that Janet Davis became the bride of Roger Tate. Happy 36 years of wedded bliss to you
