What a great turnout on a beautiful Saturday, the 17th. From noon until around 6:30 p.m. there was a line that stretched out the Auburn Community Center door and down the road, at times to the Fire Hall. They were here to enjoy the delicious fish and chicken fry put on by members of this community to help with medical expenses of Edith McReynolds who is fighting cancer. And that isn't all - the silent auction, the bake sale and the live auction netted better than $17,000. Another $2,000 which included sales of the green t-shirts and the take at the door had already been raised at the "green out" night held at the last home game of the Knights and Lady Knights. This is great for a small community and small county to come together and provide great support. Of course, the high school has also provided support with the sale of green shirts and held other events.

Thursday the 13th Bobby and Brenda Francis enjoyed luncheon with several GE retirees held at Logan's in Murfreesboro.

Ppa and I enjoyed a "play date" Saturday with Kullon and Shiloh Patrick. Mom and dad had decided they needed a "date night".

Sunday night, Kullon was back along with Adrianna (Nu-i) Reed to spend the night. We travelled to Morrison MLK day to pick up Rylon and Amaieah Morrison for a day of play. Alayna Reed joined us later on.

Congratulations to John Buryl Neely who received his first Grand Champion Market Hog plaque at the 4-H Swine Show held at the Livestock Center at MTSU. Over a very long and tiring 3-day event, he received 7th, 3rd and class winner. However, the highlight was being named Junior State Swine Skillathon Winner with a perfect score of 100 and 4th overall in the junior Premier exhibitor. Way to go, JB!

Katelyn Duggin and Memphis Reed enjoyed a trip to Murfreesboro MLK day courtesy of Lisa Reed. It was a fun day especially at Party City and a time of showing their artistic side at Painting with a Twist. It was a "Winter Whimsey Tree" day.

I've been asked to post the new hours for our local post office. Monday thru Friday they will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 to 12:30 p.m. Seems like the hours are going down to zero!!

Looks like Jody Tuck is going enter another year on the 28th. Frank Patrick joins the Medicare group when he hits 65 on the 29th. Maxine Gaither celebrates the same day but not her 65th. Scott Thompson's is the 30th and Michelle James finishes out the month on the 31st. Milton Gaither and David Tate open up the new month with birthday and Bryan James and K.C. Hale have their days on ground hog day. Happy birthday to every one of you.
The first day of February Ryan and Erica Garrett celebrate their first year being Mr. and Mrs. Happy day to you.
