Washington, DC will never be the same! From pictures posted on Facebook and the antics I’ve heard first hand, it appears the Jr. Betas, sponsors and chaperones took in ALL the sites in just a matter of days. It’s being said, “You can take a redneck out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the redneck,” to include but not limit to subway rides and crossing streets (and this was just the chaperones!!!)

In spite of bus troubles, Jr. Betas enjoying the history of our nation and then traveling to Richmond VA to attend the Jr. National Beta Convention are Stone Basham, Colin Crawley, Austin Duggin, Hattie and Corinne Fann, Rachel Hale, Katie Hancock, Tyger Kennedy, Daysha Murry, Mary Beth Patterson, Adrianna Reed, Colton Richardson, Katherine Russo, National Secretary contender, Mackenzie Turney, Bradly Vickers, Justin Whited, and Alyssa Williams. Sponsors Dianne McAllister and DeAnna Reed with hubby, Tim, and chaperones Beth Hancock, Maggie Hale, Angie Whited, Megan Davis, Lisa Vickers, W.C. Basham, Auburn principal, Melinda, Jason and Lily Crook, Lance McAllister and Carlee, Todd and Susan Turney and Donald, Cortilla and Chloe Fann had just as much fun as the betas (maybe more so with some!)

Because of tough competition, Mackenzie did not win the spot but her campaign speech (which was great) got her recognized as third. Congratulations.

Our Jr. Betas are to be commended for helping other beta clubs – one being Central Magnate where Mackenzie sang and another one where one of the competitors was not supported by any of his fellow betas. Our Betas joined forces and worked hard to perform a skit for him. Well done, Betas.

Rylon Morrison and Kullon Patrick enjoyed a day of swimming Tuesday with Janna Womack and me at the Reeds while they were gone!

“AgencyD3” Vacation Bible School will begin at Auburn Baptist Church Monday, July 7th and continue through Friday the 11th. Each night’s service begins at 6:00 and ends at 8:30. There is Bible study for babies thru adults. Crafts, recreation and evening meal provided. Family night is sent for Sunday, July 13th at 6:00 topped off with the annual homemade ice cream. Come one, come all and lean to Discover, Decide and Defend.

July 2nd is a popular day for Eric Stinnett who hits the 28 mark and Nathan Hollandsworth who turns 23. Melinda Crook has a birthday the 3rd along with Devin Young. Carlene McCullough and Paula Leach share their day with our nation when they celebrate the 4th. Brent Griffith and Will Bailey get special treatment on the 5th which winds up this weeks’ birthday list. Happy, happy birthday to all of you and PLEASE for all of us, don’t celebrate the 4th with a 5th or any other alcohol beverage. Stay safe.

It was July 5th, 1968 when Bobby Francis took as his beautiful young bride, Brenda Bryson. Matt Kress and Ashley Riter said their “I do’s” on the 6th in 2013. Happy anniversary to both couples.
