So sorry to learn of the death of Sandra Viola Smith who passed away Februry 10th. Our sympathy to her daughter, Patricia Parker.

Another death in the community is that of Max Brittnell who passed away the 16th. Condolences to his wife, Mary Ann Fletcher Brittnell.

What a nice surprise for P-pa and me Thursday afternoon when we saw Charles Robert and Hazel Jones walking up our steps! We really enjoyed their visit and we wish Charlie a speedy recovery from his cataract surgery he is scheduled to have Tuesday (today).

Saturday night the 15th Prosperity Baptist Church hosted their annual "Happy Hearts Party". A good meal and good time was enjoyed by an estimated 50 people.

An apology to the B-Team Tournament Committee for not getting the information about this annual event in the column. It began Tuesday night due to the CCHS Lionettes competing against Livingston Academy for the District Championship Monday night in Sparta. . . .and what a game it was - they did it by 2 points!

Any way the B-team tourney ended Saturday the 22nd so an apology to those of you who read this column and would like to have seen these young athletes AND enjoy the good concession stand but didn't have knowledge of when it was to take place.

This is all I could come up with for news so here is the birthday list as I didn't have any anniversaries listed: Happy birthday to Shayne Swift on the 25th. The 26th is a popular day for Hop Turney who turns a youthful 97! Co-birthday celebrants are Kathy Davenport, Barbara Holley and Janet Tate. On the 28th inn 1940, Ronnie Gaither entered this world the same day (but different years) Peggy Leach, Amber Fann, Katie Hancock and Keely Brandon were born. Jan Kennedy Hall doesn't get to have a birthday this year as it is the 29th so she gets to hold on to her current age!! March opens up with Danielle Howell having her 25th on the 2nd. Bob Whitaker's is the 3rd and finishing up the week on the 4th are Megan Davis, Pat Bryson and Joyce Dutton. Happy, happy days to all of you.
