A fatal traffic crash last May has led to the arrest of an Auburntown man on a slew of charges, including vehicular homicide.

Travis Dobson, age 42, was indicted by the January, 2011 term of the Cannon County Grand Jury on charges of vehicular homicide and several counts of drug possession.

The accident occurred on May 5, 2010 on Auburntown Road and resulted in the death of Robert Eddie Ward of Murfreesboro.

Dobson allegedly failed to properly negotiate a curve, overcorrected and then hit Ward’s vehicle head-on.

An indictment is not a finding of guilt. It simply means that the Grand Jury determined there was enough evidence to move the case forward to trial.

Tennessee Highway Patrolman Darren Butler and Woodbury Police Officer John House are the investigating officers. Dobson will appear before Circuit Court Judge Don Ash on April 8 for plea day.  He is currently free on $30,000. bond.
