The Auburntown City Council met on December 7, 2016, with the following members of the City Council present: Denise Crowell, Janice Fletcher, and Mayor Roger Turney. Absent Rita Davis. The meeting was called to order. Denise Crowell made a motion with a second by Janice Fletcher to appoint Dean Nichols, Tina Fletcher, and Chris Blackburn to fill the three vacant seats on the City Council. Motion passed.

The November Minutes and Financial Reports were read and approved.
Mr. Turney reported that Mike Lane is in the process of doing repairs and painting in the City Park. Also, Mike Bryson has done an excellent job trimming shrubbery and trees and mulching at the Community Center.

We say thank you to MTEMC for putting up the City's Christmas decorations again this year. Mr. Turney will be purchasing LED replacements lights for any decorations that still do not have these bulbs.

Mr. Poole should have our Audit prepared by the January meeting.
Mr. Turney has received his CMFO certification, and his official term begins January 1, 2017.

Finally, the City greatly appreciates the load of cold mix asphalt that was donated by the Cannon County Hwy. Dept. This asphalt was used to repair the school bus entrance to Auburn School at the end of Vantrease Ave.

We also appreciate Mr. Tim Cooper for hauling this load and Mr. Ed Schultz for his time and expertise with his asphalt roller to complete this job. This repair was badly needed and has made a huge difference in traffic flow to the school.

Meeting Adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
Janice Fletcher,
City Recorder
