The Statler Brothers recorded a song titled "The Class of '57 Had a Dream". Well, the class of '61 of Auburn High School also had a dream.

It wasn't until Saturday, November 1, 2014, that six of the original 14 met at the Auburn Community Center to see how those dreams had come to fruition.

Freddie Fann was the "emcee". He opened the reunion by remembering those members of the class who had gone on and they are: Linda (Robinson) Bogle, Euel Owen, Jimmy Bogle, Jane (Spurlock) Mullinax, Clifton Dexter, and Robbie (West) Rogers. Two class members, Wayne Duggin and Robert Gilley, were unable to attend.

It was exciting to have two teachers to visit. They were Bess Finley and Milan Davenport who also coached basketball. Also attending were Marvin and Ruth Davenport who were strong supporters of this class - taking them on their Senior Trip to the Smokies followed a little later with a trip to Center Hill Lake for a day of water fun.

Other visitors were Elizabeth "Lib" Davenport, Pat Fann, David Fuller, Bobby Duggin and Anna Patrick.

Each class member gave excerpts of their lives for the past 53 years as well as reminiscing about the old school days. Of course, the teachers and the supporters also had their remembrances to tell!
