Short Mountain Distillery will premiere its new "Apple Pie" moonshine with a launch party from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.

The launch party, which will feature Leroy Troy and the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band, is set at the distillery, located at 119 Mountain Spirits Lane near Short Mountain.

"Our Apple Pie flavored moonshine is a traditional flavor that's been a big hit so far with everyone who has tasted it," said John Whittenmore, distillery spokesman. "We have being doing a few tastings at trade shows and people love it."

The new flavor features moonshine made from corn that is mixed with organic apple cider and cinnamon with a dash of vanilla.

"It's great for the holidays and is a great a gift idea too," Whittenmore said.

Leroy Troy and his band will hit the stage at the distillery at 12:30 p.m. or so.

Lunch will be provided by The Blue Porch @ The Arts Center and will feature soups with cornbread as well as barbecue.

Starting at 10:30, the Middle Tennessee Muleskinners Association will offer mule wagon rides.

Hazzard Life will display replicas of the cars from the Dukes of Hazzard.

Tours will also be offered including the secret cave spring that provides the water for distilling Short Mountain moonshine. Visitors can also taste the product as well as purchase Apple Pie moonshine at the distillery.
