Annie Merriman Smithson, 97, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Woodbury Health Care. She was a native of Cannon Co., TN.

She is survived by her children, Adron (Martha) Smithson, Myrna (Jack) Rogers, Arna (Teena) Smithson all of Woodbury; Grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Boyd) Pitts, Greg (Lisa) Rogers, Paul (Robin) Smithson, Brad (Laurie) Smithson, & Wayne Smithson; Great Grandchildren, Wesley Rogers, Erin (Ryan) Emlen, John (Mandy) Pitts, Alex (Brittany) Pitts, Caleb (Amelia) Smithson, Jacob Smithson, Katie Smithson, Jed Smithson, Brooke Smithson, Lara Kate Smithson, & Luke Smithson.; Great Great Grandchild, Eli Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie & Barbara Travis Merriman; Husband, Coy Alex Smithson; & Siblings, Joe Merriman, Colin Merriman, Lee Earl Merriman, & Roberta Peeler.

Ms. Smithson was a member of the West High Church of Christ. She was a homemaker, caterer, & owner and operator of Smithson's Grocery for 66 years.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, January 26, 2015 at Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with grandson Bro. Paul Smithson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 4-8 PM Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Woodbury Funeral Home. Song service will be led by grandson, Greg Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Society, or Adams Memorial Library.
