Monday, August 26, 2013 10:02 am Mrs. Agnes Dean Melton Byrd age 87 of McMinnville, TN, died Sunday, August 25, 2013, at Rain Tree Manor Nursing Center in McMinnville, TN. She was born November 17, 1925, in Cannon County, TN, was a retired employee of Magnetek Century Electric, and a member of Arlington Church of Christ. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her parents William and Mary Ford Melton, her husband Fred Byrd, her sisters Pauline Francis, Ann Roden, and Cindy Carmene Gunter Turner, and a brother William Melton. Survivors include a foster daughter Julia Kenney, Doyle, TN, and her brothers Horace Melton, McMinnville, TN, and Clebren Melton, Murfreesboro, TN. Many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive. Funeral services are 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 27, 2013, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Cantrell officiating. Interment is at Blues Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again Tuesday from 9 A.M. until 2 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
