Holly R. Belcher (Carter), 101 Sunny Slope Rd., Woodbury, was served a warrant allegeding she committed Aggravated Assault on March 8.

The purported victim alleges Belcher assaulted her by strangulation and other means.

Cannon County deputies Seth Perry and Travis Turney went to 810 Johnson Hollow Rd. to attempt to serve the warrant on Belcher. Belcher opened the door and when she did, a great deal of smoke came out of the camper which smelled like burning marijuana.

Deputy Perry informed Belcher he had a warrant for her and that she was under arrest. When asked, Belcher said there was marijuana in the camper. At this point Michael Barrett came out of the camper.

Barrett at first denied there was marijuana inside, but when questioned further by Deputy Perry, he acknowledged there was and went inside and pulled out a small bag of a green leafy substance weighing 4.4 grams.

Barrett admitted the marijuana was his. He was issued a citation for Simple Possession and the substance was seized as evidence. Initial court date is April 3.

• Frank T. Mason, 232 McMinnville Hwy., Woodbury, was charged with Disorderly Conduct on March 13 by Woodbury Assistant Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham. Mason was cited for allegedly creating a disturbance while inside the Cannon County Courthouse. Initial court date is April 17.
