Additional Auburntown Surveillance Equipment Too Costly: Mayor

The Auburntown City Council met Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 6:00 PM for their regular monthly meeting.

The mayor and all councilmen were present except Rita Davis who was helping hold the general election.

The previous minutes of the October meeting was approved as presented by the City Recorder.

The financial report was presented for review and approval. The report was approved as presented with a few comments of explanation.

The mayor reported that the extension of the electrical arrangements in the Library with the surveillance equipment in the Community Center was cost prohibitive at the present time.

The electrical facilities in the C. S. Hawkins Park are adequate to allow additional hookups to be added as needed for vendors during Red Apple Days. This will be further pursued with the passing of time.

Chris Blackburn, Fire Chief, reported that the Fire Dept. would not be holding their 3rd Saturday Fish Frys during the months of November and December this year.  This was due to decreased patronage and the rising cost of supplies that resulted in very little to no profit being realized. However, the Lion’s Club Fish Frys on the 1st Saturday of each month will continue as usual.

Miss Hunter Miller from the Government Class at Cannon County High School attended this session as a class Assignment.
