The MTSU signee had 2,043 points entering the semifinals of the Rhea County Holiday Tournament Friday (Dec. 20), which puts her fourth on the all-time scoring list.
That includes male or female and Cannon County High School, as well as Woodbury Central High School.
Sissom trails only big sister Emily Sissom (2,181), Vicki Todd (2,193) and Julie Powell (2,894) on the all-time scoring list. The two-time Class AA Miss Basketball Finalist is projected to finish as the second all-time leading scorer Cannon County basketball history when her stupendous career concludes.
“I had no idea I was at 2,000 points until Coach Dodgen told me,” a humble Sissom said. “I really have to give the credit to my teammates because they get me the ball in position to score and, luckily, a lot of shots have fallen. I am humbled to be mentioned in the same company of those great players.”
Sissom is a four-year starter and a two-time All-State performer. She also earned a spot on the TSSAA Class AA State All-Tournament team as a freshman.
She has helped lead the Lionettes into the TSSAA Class AA State Tournament in two of the last three years.
