March 18th will be the 16th year the Friends of Edgar Evins State Park have sponsored the popular day trip to various area waterfalls with lunch at a restaurant along the way. It usually sells out early so it is best to make reservations without delay.

After signing in at Edgar Evins State Park's Visitors Center at 8 a.m. we will ride a school bus to Ozone Falls, Roaring River Falls and the City Lake Park Falls. We will eat lunch at the Golden Corral in Cookeville and return to the park about 3:30 p.m. Expect short walks on uneven ground. Cost is $15 per person, plus lunch. Reservations required. Cameras and walking sticks are encouraged.

The park is located at 1630 Edgar Evins Park Road, Silver Point, TN 38582. It is in DeKalb County, approximately 20 miles north of Smithville, 20 miles west of Cookeville and 60 miles east of Nashville. From I-40 take exit 268 at State Hwy. 96 and Center Hill Lake. From Cannon County take the Gassaway Road off Highway 70-S to Liberty at Highway 70 East, past Dowelltown to the top of Snow Hill, then left on Highway 96 (Dale Ridge Road). It is then about 12 miles over the dam and past the Corps of Engineers facility to the park. The entrance will be on the right, across from the Big Rock Market.
