16-U Lions Score Big In Victory

The 16-under Lions continued to enjoy strong offensive performances during their only game in the Murfreesboro Baseball Association Premier League last week.

The Lions secured a 13-2 win against the Murfreesboro Rays with three players enjoying multi-hit performances.

Graden Strang, Jackson Mason and Austin Martin each had two hits as the Lions scored early and often on their way to the easy win. The team had 11 hits in all. Eight players reached base at least twice and ever spot in the lineup scored at least one run.

The Lions improved to 7-0 in league play and 9-0 overall.

The Rays went on top 2-0 in the top of the first but the Lions scored 13 unanswered to roar to the victory. They scored five in the bottom of the first and were never threatened the rest of the way.

Consecutive hits from Strang, Mason, Tucker Francis and Austin Martin opened the floodgates in the first.

Mason, Martin and Cole Barnes all hit run-producing hits in the third inning. Jared Judkins also had a hit, alked twice and scored two runs from his leadoff position.

The Lions have a busy week ahead. After playing a single game Monday, they play a double header Tuesday and a single game Friday.
