11 Plead Guilty In Circuit Court



Judge Don R. Ash presided over Cannon County Circuit Court on Friday, July 8. The results of some of the cases on the docket are as follows:

• Adam Clint George pled guilty to a charge of manufacture of methamphetamine. He was given a suspended sentence of eight years as a Range I, 30 percent offender. He will serve one year of jail time and eight years of state supervised probation. He was also fined $2,000 and assessed court costs. George also pled guilty to a charge of DUI, first offense. He was sentenced to serve 11 months, 29 days, fined $350, assessed court costs and had his license revoked for one year. His sentences will run consecutively.

• Kathleen Farless pled guilty to DUI, first offense. She was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, ordered to serve four days in the Cannon County Jail, and was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days. She was also fined $525 and assessed court costs.

• Joe Donn Fann entered a conditional plea of guilty to a charge of livestock running at large under judicial diversion. He was given 30 days probation. A restitution hearing was set for Sept. 1.

• Jeff Thomas pled guilty to criminal attempt to commit arson. He was given a two year sentence as a Range 1, 30 percent offender. Thomas was also remanded to the custody of the Cannon County Sheriff’s Department after failing a court-ordered drug screen.

• Jerry Dean Barrett pled guilty to two counts of promotion of methamphetamine manufacture and was given a three year sentence on each count as a Range 1, 30 percent offender. He also pled guilty to a charge of domestic assault and was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days. A suspended sentence hearing was scheduled for Sept. 1.

• Keith David Smith pled guilty to attempt to initiate the process of manufacturing methamphetamine. He was sentenced to serve six years in the Tennessee Department of Corrections as a Range 1, 30 percent offender. Smith also pled guilty to a charge of theft under $500 and was given a sentence of 11 months, 29 days. His sentences will run concurrent.

• Robert Lee pled guilty to the sale of Schedule III drugs and was given a four year suspended sentence as a Range 1, 30 percent offender. He was placed on Community Corrections for four years, fined $2,500 and ordered to pay court costs.

• Tonya Greer pled guilty to the solicitation of the sale of Schedule III drugs. She was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and placed on probation for an equal amount of time. She was also fined $100 and ordered to pay court costs.

• Billy Ray Carmack pled guilty to three counts of vehicular assault. He was given a four-year suspended sentence as a Range 1, 30 percent offender on each count and placed on state probation for four years. He will also serve 120 days in the county jail and his license was revoked for one year.

• Vickie Marsh pled guilty to charges of violation of probation, two counts of assault and one count of failure to appear. She was placed on state supervised probation for a period of three years, 10 months and 24 days.

• Ronica Arnold was granted a suspended sentence on her conviction for manufacture of methamphetamine. She was placed on state supervised probation for six years and ordered to serve 200 hours of community service.
